
Forster Bowling Club was the venue of choice for the recently held annual country inter zone RSL round robin competition.
One hundred and twelve bowlers from as far north as Yamba, down to the Central Coast competed for the trophy and the honor of playing off for the president’s trophy against a Sydney based team in March.
The two day event had each zone playing all of the others, with an outright winner taking home the shield.
Zone seven were the holders of the shield and the president’s trophy, so went in as favourites, but in their first game they played zone eight and were beaten by four points.
Zone eight went on to defeat zone six and five, taking home the shield. Three wins plus 76 points was their final tally, with zone seven taking second place after two wins and 14 points.
All bowlers enjoyed the playing conditions the hot weather made sure plenty of liquid refreshments were consumed.Lunch at Danny's restaurant and the main presentation dinner kept all bowlers very happy.
Zone eight, being the host club want to thank all at Forster Bowling Club, their green and bar staff for the hospitality shown to all the service personnel, their partners and all the ladies making this carnival the success it was.
