On the weekend of February 10-11, the Great Lakes Bridge Club held a special event: a swiss teams congress.
With 29 teams of four members travelling for the event from as far south as Illawarra, west to Armidale and north to Cleveland Bay, Qld, the event was a great success.
A great weekend was had by all competitors and organisers, under the direction of Tony Howes, who is the accreditation director from the Australia Bridge Federation in Canberrra.
General comments from the room reflected the opinion that Forster Tuncurry is a fantastic place, with special consideration and appreciation for the wonderful cooks who provided spectacular slices and cakes for all the eat.

Great Lakes bridge club’s Sharon Bull attributed special thanks to those who helped to make the event a success.
“I would like to thank the ladies in the kitchen, led by Fay Birtwistle for their fantastic effort,” she said.
I would also like to thank the ladies from our local Hospice, whose sandwiches were delightful.”
