Swimmers from around the region came into Gloucester on Tuesday (February 13) for the Manning Regional Catholic Primary School swimming carnival.
St Joseph’s Primary School, Gloucester hosted the event for the fifth successive time at the Gloucester Swimming Pool Complex.
Five schools from the region attended the carnival with the top performers moving onto the Maitland-Newcastle’s Diocesan Primary Swimming Carnival in Newcastle on March 6.
Around 70 swimmers from St Joseph’s Primary School’s in Gloucester, Wingham, Taree and Bulahdelah, along with Holy Name Catholic Primary School, Forster came out to compete, hoping to take home a title or two.
Gloucester had eight swimmers eager to represent their school at this year’s event.
Year 12 students from the Vocational Education Training (VET) Sport Coaching course at St Clare’s High School also came over to help out by timekeeping each race.
The time spent assisting at the event goes toward the students practical requirement for the course.
