As the sun sets on what’s been a long, hot, summer reading club season, the MidCoast Libraries team is sending a huge shout out to club members to get their reading logs in.
This will enable you to receive an invitation to the end of season party, and to go into the draw to win some great prizes.
The deadline for returning reading logs is Saturday, January 20, and RSVP’s for the party are required by Monday, January 22.
MidCoast Libraries’ Community Outreach Librarian, Debbie Horgan has been thrilled with this year’s response.
“Summer reading club launched on December 1 and we’ve had terrific take-up by young readers from across the entire region,” she said.
“The program is all about getting kids reading books over the summer holidays, so our end of season party and prize draws are a great way to celebrate the achievements of so many great young bookworms who have participated this year.”
The summer reading club is a novel and engaging way to promote reading and literacy, providing a positive focus on reading through the long summer holidays by making it fun.
This year, a bonus incentive to participate with the end of season party and prize draws has been made possible through program sponsor, Mission Australia, as part of the Australian Government’s communities for children initiative.
“A big thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s summer reading club, and we’ll look forward to welcoming you all back next year,” Debbie added.
