The school holiday program is expected to be another huge success with a total of 31 events held throughout the 11 branches.
These events are very popular across the region and include a series of virtual reality experiences.
Remember Storytime returns to the libraries after the school holidays at the usual times. See our website for more information.
MidCoast Libraries can help your ageing relatives stay connected with our Home Library Service. This fortnightly service, providing a wide range of entertainment, is offered to anyone in the community who is housebound by age, illness or disability.
Contact your local branch to find out more.
If you’re stuck for a book and heading off on a flight, how about you collect a Take off with a Free book. These books are available at the Taree Airport to anyone who needs some old fashioned entertainment on their flight.
You can keep the book or return it to one of our 11 branches.
The Library Puzzle Collection began just in time for Christmas. You are able to borrow up to two puzzles for three weeks.
Go to www.midcoastlibraries.com.au/Library-catalogue- search and search jigsaw puzzle or ask at your library.
Speaking of Christmas – did you receive a device or gadget for Christmas and you’re unsure how to use it? Forster library offers free mobile device support every second Thursday from 2pm-4pm.
This will begin on Thursday, January 18.
We have two author talks taking place in February.
At 1pm on February 16 at Taree library, Mick Marcon will be giving a talk on the Geshe Kelsang Gyatso book called How to transform your life.
This book provides a practical manual for daily life that shows how we can develop and maintain inner peace, how we can reduce and stop our experience of problems, and how we can bring about positive changes in our lives that will enable us to experience deep and lasting happiness.
Our second author talk, back by popular demand, is Terry Stanton. This time he’s coming to Taree library to talk about and promote his book Deliver me from evil.
Books will be available for purchase at the event.
Both of these events are free and you can book your spot on the events page of the MidCoast Libraries website.
Definitely starting the year with running shoes on – see you in the library.
