A woman with five children in the car has been charged with speeding and mid-range drink driving after being stopped in Tuncurry on the afternoon of Sunday, December 10.

The Toyota Land Cruiser was pulled over on The Lakes Way, Tuncurry at 5.30pm after officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command alleged the car was travelling 68kph in a 50kph zone.
A roadside breath test was conducted which allegedly returned a positive result.
The driver was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station where a breath analysis was conducted and returned an alleged reading of 0.110.
The woman was charged with mid-range drink driving and exceeding the speed limit. Her driving licence was suspended.
She will appear at Forster Local Court on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
The 28-year-old woman from Bundaberg, Queensland, had five children reported to be of infant to primary school age in the car at the time.
A child at risk notification will be submitted to the Family and Community Services Department.
NSW Police traffic and highway patrol command assistant commissioner Michael Corboy, said while drink driving and speeding was reckless, doing this with children in the car wasdistressing.
“It is concerning to see drivers putting their own life at risk, but it’s unforgivable to risk the lives of young passengers, not to mention other road users,” he said.
