Since the start of the year the club has had what they described as some interesting and well attended meetings, but the annual Christmas in July and Dutch auction was a highlight.
Held at the Pacific Palms Recreation Club, members dined on a traditional festive meal of roast pork followed by strawberry trifle.
A lively auction of amazing prizes saw members and their guests bidding and raising money for Learning for Life.
Members extended their thanks to everyone who donated, in particular the many local businesses which contributed prizes.
We were delighted to be joined by a number of friends and guests who thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the Christmas and auction spirit.
Special thanks go to club secretary, Tina Maasland, who organised many of the prizes and to president Julie Henry who ran the auction on the night assisted beautifully by assistant president, Kelly Herbert.
Following the auction to raise further funds Kelly led us in a few rounds of heads and tales which brought lots of fun and laughter.
