Citizen of the Year will talk at the Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber May meeting

Last year’s Great Lakes Citizen of the Year, Julie Brady is the Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber’s special guest speaker at its May monthly breakfast meeting.

Julie is guaranteed to inspire chamber members and their guests with her professional story and contribution towards the local community.

Julie holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

She has extensive experience as an executive in sectors as varied as life insurance and financial services; health insurance; building products manufacturing, and dot com start up.

Her skills encompass “people, performance, planning and process”.

Julie has held many roles, including customer service, corporate services, and organisation change and development.

She has worked in organisations ranging in size from around 100 to more than 4000 nationally.

After leaving corporate life, Julie consulted to a range of organisation.

Her focus was on board governance, and performance planning and management for boards, executives and teams.

Back in the mists of time, Julie joined the Department of Employment and Training, becoming one of the five most senior executives in NSW until her move to the private sector.

Julie forsook corporate life in Sydney and moved permanently to a farm on the shores of Wallis Lake.

Six years ago she joined the committee of the then Forster Neighbourhood Centre, leading to a stimulating and rewarding collaboration to provide a tremendous range of community based services in the region.

Julie is the chair of the Great Lakes Neighbourhood Services Committee and the founding president of the board of Great Lakes Women’s Shelter Inc, which opened its doors in January 2016.

Julie believes the  skills she collected in the paid workforce were just a warm up for her roles today.

Chamber members have extended an invitation to everyone to join them at this fabulous venue, as Julie shares her wealth of knowledge and expertise.

This year’s Red Shield Appeal chairman, Jim Morwitch also will address the meeting, which will be held from 7am on Tuesday, May 2 at the Reef Bar and Grill in Forster.
