The results were close. All the speeches kept the audience on the edge of their seats and hanging on every word spoken.
The speeches included the legend of Scheherazade, and the tales of one thousand one nights, offering the importance of being able to tell good stories, and another speech of a plan to eliminate litter on our roadsides.
In the evaluation speeches, competitors listened to a guest speaker and then had to deliver their subjective assessment of the speech, offering their understanding of the speech and submitting their recommendations that may improve such a speech in a three minute time frame.
Both speech competitions gave the opportunity for the competitors to hone their skills in constructing, listening, understanding and delivering a good standard in public speaking.
