Partners and owners of Twin Towns Meats, the couple has been described as ‘two of the best’; ‘two of the most hardworking people you will ever come across’.
Like many small business owners, they work seven days a week and have not enjoyed a holiday in more than a decade.
Wayne has had a tough couple of years with his health to say the least.
He has just finished some very aggressive treatment and is now home and concentrating on his recovery.
Sadly, for the Andersons and their many customers, they have had to sell the business as Wayne has been unable to keep up with the demands of the shop.
Though he gave it his absolute best!
Wayne only gave up work few months back when his treatment became too intense.
These two locals are an inspiration to us all - such caring, positive and hardworking people who deserve the best.
They have been married for 24 years and have two amazing children Ben and Emily who grew up here in Forster and are now living and working in Newcastle.
Over the 28 years of living locally – 17 of those years owning Twin Towns Meats – the Andersons have consistently supported numerous sporting groups, including the Forster Tuncurry Hawkes, junior rugby league, soccer clubs, lawn bowls and the local schools.
We, as a community need to come together and help the locals who help locals!
Organisers have put together an outstanding package of great raffle prizes including fresh seafood, meat and vegetable trays, fishing tacke, and off-shore fishing charter, tickets on the Amaroo for dolphin watching, meal vouchers from local pubs and clubs, a beauty package and a signed soccer jersey by Harry Kewell
Please show your support and come down to the Bellevue Hotel this Saturday, December 3 from 2pm and enjoy a cold beer, buy a handful of tickets for the raffle or have a bid on the auction and sit back and enjoy the live music in the beer garden.
We are still seeking donations so if you want to lend a hand in this way please contact Simon or Haley at the Bellevue 6554 6577.
