When Kroc’s secretary June (Kate Kneeland) tells him the McDonalds’ diner in Southern California wants eight milkshake mixers because their business is booming, Kroc decides to drive to the west coast to see what’s behind their success.
He meets Mac (John Carroll Lynch) and Dick (Nick Offerman) McDonald, who are content to operate their sole take-away burger joint. Kroc is impressed by their speedy food dispensing and sees franchise potential. Under Kroc’s guidance the brothers reduce the menu to the best-selling items and work out a way to make them even more efficiently.
The ultimately flawed Kroc has a lot to answer for as he manoeuvres himself into a position to pull the company away from the brothers and create the global enterprise that is McDonald’s.
