Alzheimer’s Australia NSW in collaboration with MidCoast Council is holding a free dementia awareness presentation for family and friends of people with dementia in Forster.
There is an estimated 115,000 people with dementia in NSW, which is expected to grow to 128,500 people by 2020 and 272,000 by 2050.
Chances are, someone you know is living with dementia – come along to this free information session and discover more about dementia and the support that is available.
This dementia awareness session will help immediate and extended family and friends to understand the impact of dementia and how to strengthen their relationship with the person living with dementia.
The presentation includes strategies for effective communication and ways to promote independence, self-esteem and enjoyment for family, friends and the person living with dementia.
The free session will be held on November 2 from 9.30 with morning tea until noon at Club Forster.
