It’s a passion that has been inspired and passed down through the family by Joel’s grandmother, Christine Dunn.
“I am an keen amateur photographer,” Forster based Christine explained.
“With all my grandchildren, I’ve loaned them my point and shoot to practice with.”
With Christine following close behind, Joel explores the wilderness of Forster Tuncurry, keeping a keen eye out for a potential picture.
“We go out and Joel takes his shots of whatever he wishes, he’s in charge,” Christine said.
“The first couple of times we went out I would help out with composure and prospective but he has learnt very quickly.
“I’ll sometimes point out something that could be a good subject, for example council workers removing a tree or the sun glistening on the water.”
Christine has found photography to be a wonderful way to bond with all her grandchildren, and loves watching as they grow and develop their passion through her long-term hobby.
“Joel’s confidence and ability has had improved, and he often asks to take photographs with “his” camera,” she laughed.
