I’ll pre-empt this report by saying that I didn’t test this Holden in the specific conditions it is built for. The closest I got was about 12 kilometres of dirt road.

While saying this I have to add that the Trailblazer is a very competent bitumen car.
In naming the car the Trailblazer Holden has used very emotive terms with some pretty rugged connotations.
What do you get for your RRP of $52,490 plus ORC?
The Trailblazer comes with a 2.8-litre turbo diesel from Italian diesel specialist VM Motori. Power is 147kW (197bhp) and 500Nm of torque.
Impressive figures considering it still attains a very satisfactory 8.5L/100ks (32mpg) fuel usage pulling over two tonnes.
The car has three drive modes, two wheel, four wheel or four wheel low range, all at the flick of a switch.
Inside the LTZ it gives you - MyLink infotainment system, eight inch colour touchscreen, satellite navigation (not adaptive), Apple CarPlay and Android auto phone projection, digital audio radio (DAB), USB input with iPod connectivity, seven speaker premium audio, leather appointed seat trim with heated front seats, six-way adjustable electric drivers seat, electronic climate control air.
The car gets a five star ANCAP rating, scoring 34.49/37.
Some of the safety aids include:
Seven Airbags, electronic stability control, front park assist, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, reversing camera with moving grid. Towing capacity is an impressive 3000kgs.
I drove the Trailblazer just over 1000 kilometres and found it a comfortable cruiser with excellent handling considering its size. The six speed auto is silky smooth. On dirt the car lopes over corrugations with no nasty feed back through the steering. As I said earlier to fully test this car off roading would be needed.
I found the Trailblazer to be a very competent and efficient bit of gear able to handle the conditions put in front of it without bother. My rating 8/10.
