The 2017 Group Three Rugby League women’s league tag season will certainly be one to remember for Forster-Tuncurry’s Lisa Bullivant.
At the group’s recent presentation night, she was named the league tag player of the year and a member of the team of the year.
To cap it off, she was recognised as the division’s leading try scorer after bagging 14 for the year.
Despite failing to make the grand final after an overtime loss to Port City in the preliminary final, she was satisfied that the side played consistent football throughout the season.
Lisa highlighted playing alongside Kylie Hilder (who was also named in the team of the year) as a high point for playing with the Hawks.
She added that all sides were competitive in the 2017 season, which made her enjoy it even more.
“Every game you play is pretty tough,” she said.
The nine season veteran was also recognised for bringing up 100 games earlier in the year.
Lisa is a former rugby union player and noted that if a women’s rugby league competition was created in the area, she would put her hand up.
“I would definitely give it a go,” she said.
She thanked Lyn and Garry Eason for coaching the side and the Hawks for their consistent support shown to the league tag team.
Meanwhile, Ben Murray was named at centre in the first grade team of the year.
