Families who attended were treated to some great weather, as well as live entertainment and plenty of food. Super Radio Network, Talk Tonight host Graeme Gilbert was this year’s ambassador.
The day was full of entertainment, with performances by Danny Elliott, Kevin A Legend, the Manning Valley Concert Band, and the Wingham Pipe Band. For the kids, Prime Possum was on hand to meet and greet, and Mr Whippy put in an appearance too.
Men’s sheds from throughout the Great Lakes and Manning, which play an important part in addressing men’s health and giving men a purpose in life after retirement, came along, and special guest local urologist Dr Ben Kwok was on hand to answer questions about prostate cancer.
The park was packed with families and hungry competitors from the Running Festival who had wandered over to see what was going on.
Overall the day was a huge success, raising an estimated $7000, with funds still being counted. After all, with a choc top in one hand and a steak sanga in the other, who could complain?
