Social enterprise Helping Hands has celebrated the achievements of two of their young employees.

Kristie Smith and Beau Lowry have been very busy, not only with work, but study too.

Kristie’s bright smile and friendly demeanor, coupled with a strong work ethic, has seen her recently completing her traineeship, studying Certificate 3 in business administration.

Starting out at Helping Hands in 2015 as an administrative assistant, Kristie was quickly promoted to Helping Hands coordinator due to her professionalism and fantastic work ethic.

Beau has been promoted from maintenance assistant to carpenter at Helping Hands since completing his four year carpentry apprenticeship in April. He began working as a maintenance assistant in 2012.

Helping Hands is based in the Manning, Great Lakes and Tea Gardens area and it provides services to those wishing to age well in their own homes. It also assists clients through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Hannah Thrippleton, service manager at Helping Hands, believes that learning and progressing through work is a big part of being a social enterprise.

“Watching your staff grow and develop is very rewarding, I’m very proud of Kristie and Beau and the whole team at Helping Hands,” she said.
