The Football Mid North Coast Premier League is down to the business end of the season with the opening round of semifinals. Taree Wildcats finished fourth after the regular season with Wallis Lake fifth. The sides matched up in the elimination semifinal played at Omaru Park in Taree. Winner of the match heads to the minor semifinal on Saturday, September 9 while the loser can start to make arrangements for season 2018.

Wallis Lake, the defending premier league champions, have been a hoodoo side for the Wildcats in recent years. Taree was also involved in the reserve grade game against Port United.
