I was upset at the headline story in this week’s Advocate.

Whilst the story was disturbing that this kind of suspected behaviour was going on in our towns I lament that the whole story has not been considered.
For instance how were these animals “baited” ?
Were the baits thrown over the fences or are these animals just roaming about unsupervised.
It must be an extreme set of circumstances that someone would go to such lengths to kill these pets, so what is the real story ?
There are many good pet owners out there but just as many who do not obey the rules.
Councils records show this.
What is it that makes some pet owners believe that they can let their pets roam around inflicting just as horrible a death on native animals as these suspected poisonings ?
I think your paper did a poor job with this story.
