The Salvation Army Forster -Tuncurry was aware of this fact and will host a wills day on Thursday, September 21 to help people formally declare their interests and wishes for loved ones.
Forster-Tuncurry Salvos officer, Lieutenant Donna Sutcliffe says this is a concerning statistic as a registered will is the only way to guarantee hard earned assets and personal interests are honoured according to your intentions.
“Over your lifetime you work hard to build up your assets, so when you pass you want to ensure that your loved ones will be the beneficiaries,” Lieutenant Sutcliffe said.
The Forster Tuncurry Wills Day is being supported by several local solicitors which have volunteered their time and services to The Salvation Army for this day-long community service.
Local residents will have the opportunity to have a simple will professionally prepared or updated for the reduced cost of $50.
All proceeds from the Wills Day will be donated to The Salvation Forster -Tuncurry to support their work in the local community.
The Wills Day will be held on September 21 at Forster-Tuncurry Salvation Army, 7 South Street, Tuncurry.
Appointments are essential and can be made by calling 4929 5273.
