His material to write books virtually endless. He owned the famous Boomerang Holden 48/215 racer, driven to many wins by Spencer Martin. The Boomerang 48/215 was the most winning old Holden of the era.
Joel's first book Legends of the 48/215 proved very popular.
Encouragement from car lovers and support from Woodlands Media and Pitstop Books encouraged him to produce another book.
The new book A Passion for Holden launches at Harrington library on Tuesday, August 29.
Joel has selected individual cars from the Holden range and told their stories. In his book he has covered the full gambit of Holden from 1948 to their impending local production demise later this year.
A guest at the launch will be country singer Kedron Taylor who will no doubt present his Holden tribute song Nothin But a Holden.
Ex Australian champion Spencer Martin will be on hand to sign books and answer questions.
A number of car clubs are also expected to have vehicles on show at the launch.
A Passion for Holden would be a great gift to get for Fathers' Day. I'm sure Joel would be happy to sign it. A true collectors edition.
