Great Lakes’ own vocal ensemble Company of Voices is once again lining up for their annual performance in the Forster library.
Company of Voices will share their music in support of the FOGLLS, the wonderful and supportive Friends of Great Lakes Library Service.
This concert, which will be held on Saturday, August 19 from 2.30pm, is an annual event on the library calendar and is always well supported.
“We always love singing in the library,” founder and director Leigh Vaughan said.
“The FOGLLS are such a great bunch of enthusiastic library supporters and the audiences are always very appreciative of our music.”
This year is definitely set to be a fantastic afternoon of entertainment with the usual lovely afternoon tea at interval provided by the FOGLLS.
Tickets are $20 with concession $15 and can be purchased from Forster library.
Seating is limited so it is important to get your tickets soon.
Company of Voices is not really a choir, but a group of 16 friends who enjoy singing together and sharing the music to raise funds for local worthy causes.
Members share a love of choral music and a belief that singing in harmony has the power to lift the human spirit.
They take delight in conveying enjoyment to their audiences.
Members come from all walks of life, span a wide age range and profess to ‘specialise in diversity’.
The company always likes to add variety to their programs and this year is no exception.
Special guest will be guitarist Brian Saxby.
Formerly from Taree, Brian has returned from living and working in Kuala Lumpur to reside in Forster.
“I am really looking forward to collaborating with the Company of Voices,” he said.
“It’s good to get back into the local music scene”.
As well as joining the Voices in some of their jazz and popular songs, the versatile Brian will perform a classical guitar solo.
Company of Voices rehearses weekly in Forster and membership is by invitation and audition, with a key criteria being the ability to party, and of course, to have fun singing.
We’re urging you to come along, join the fun while supporting our wonderful library and its Friends.
