Fifteen-year-old Claire Van Kampen was placed third in the over 15-years 200 metres backstroke at this years NSW Country Swimming Championships.

Held at Sydney Olympic Park, Claire waited to the last heat of the last event of the carnival resulting in the amazing win.
Forster Aquatic Club took a team of 10 swimmers to this year’s event.
They were Izaac and Julian Boag, Hannah Carmichael, Dane Jeffery, Emily Rowell, Harrison Tancred, Jesse and Nash Wilkes, and Brock and Claire Van Kampen.
The team had a number of top 10 finishes they were:- Brock, 3; Claire, 2; Jess, 1 and Dane 1.
The meet also resulted in a remarkable overall 41 PBs out 51 swims.
Further congratulations to Hannah Harrison, Julian and Izaac on their first country championships.
The kids were lucky enough to have both coaches Peter Sanders and Adel Gregory attend the carnival and once again providing inspiration, expertise coaching and guidance to every swimmer.
The kids would thank them for everything they do.
