Over 50 teams took to the water for the two day event on May 27 and 28.
Mike and Grant competed as Team Carpet Court/ Cranka Lures and took out the top prize of $5,000.
This is this the first time the duo have claimed a round, with their previous best result being second.
The team sat in fifth position after the first day, catching five fish with a weight of 3.40 kilograms.
They finished with 10 fish with a total weight of 7.57 kg at the end of the round.
The event came down to the wire with the team picking up the victory by just 600 grams.
Grant said that the overall competition was tightly contested with the top ten decided by a matter of grams. He expected the size of the fish would be slightly larger due to past experiences at the site.
“This time of year is good for bream and racks,” Grant said.
He added that he was pleased to win the event with Mike in front of their home crowd.
“There was a big cheer when we won,” Grant said.
The team has featured in the series for the past five years.
The Berkeley Super Series is a team based bream fishing tournament, contested on the east coast of Australia.
The next leg of the series will be held in Lake Macquarie July 22 to 23.
