The certificate was awarded to Andrew for the valued time and effort he gives to the Stroke Recovery Club’s market stalls.
For over a year now Andrew has ferried the club’s gazebo to the markets, assembled it and returned to disassemble it and ferry it back home.
Without his help the club’s market stalls would not be possible, and members really appreciate his input. Robyn is standing in photo for Andrew.
This year the stroke recovery group will be attending markets more frequently as it has been donated a queen size brocaded quilt to raffle to raise funds.
The quilt was handmade and donated by Mrs Ann Lewis from the Central Coast.
The money raised will be to assist with expenses for club members to attend this year’s Hunter Stroke Olympics in October.
The club is aiming at raising $1000, and to achieve this members will be present at markets through to September. The raffle will be drawn at the Farmers Market on September 16, which is Stroke Awareness Week.
The club is a self-help club, to support stroke survivors, their family and carers.
