Peter demonstrated how this impressive pocket size camera, with a one inch sensor, takes fantastic still photos and also 4K video.
One of the great features is you can change the focus point after you have taken the photo.
This month’s open subject judge was Graham Burstow OAM, FAPS, FRPS, FPSA, EFIAP, Hon. FAPS, PSQA, HAFB, PSQF.
His photographic achievements include the following: Order of Australia Medal for Services to Photography in Australia in 2004; The publication of a book of his prints called Touch Me, 1998; His inclusion in a group of six prominent Queensland-based photographers chosen by the Queensland Art Gallery to document aspects of Queensland life for a major exhibition, Journeys North, as part of the bicentenary celebrations 1988; His prints were acquired by the Queensland Art Gallery, the State Library of Queensland, and the National Library of Australia for their permanent collections.
Graham is a life member and Patron of the Toowoomba Photographic Society and a foundation Member of the Australian Photographic Society.
He has submitted his work to exhibitions in more than 30 countries and is chairman of six international exhibitions in Australia.
As a result of his exhibition history, Graham is the first Queenslander to have achieved a fellowship in each of the Australian, British, and American photographic societies.
This month’s judge for set subject was Susan Buchanan. Susan discovered photography a little over 10 years ago when a family holiday to Frazer Island failed to produce a single good photograph.
Of course she blamed her equipment and a spark of interest was struck that continued to grow. She says that each exposure to a different facet of photography from darkroom techniques to the latest off camera flash imagery has proven to be intriguing and a source of joy and preoccupation.
Along the way Susan was the president of the Northside Photography Group and has been judging and lecturing for various photography groups for some time. She is a member of the Australian Photography Society.
