BREAK and enters continue to be a problem within the Manning Great Lakes with several houses Diamond Beach targetted over the Easter long-weekend.

Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command chief inspector Paul Fuller said in the early hours of Monday, April 17 three break and enters occurred at Diamond Beach homes, along with two attempted break and enters.
“They were targeting cash,” said the chief inspector.
“Fly screens were removed or damaged or entered through unlocked doors. We’re urging everyone to keep doors locked.”
Chief inspector Fuller said since March, the command has started Operation Up Late, to target these types of offences.
So far the operation has produced good results with 22 people charged or dealth with in relation the Young Offenders Act, with a total of 60 charges. On April 6, a 16-year-old Forster boy was charged with four break and enters.
