So Stephen Bromhead believes that a 20 per cent rate increase by the MidCoast Council will have “no adverse impact”, except of course for the thousands of ratepayers who will have to pay it, many of whom are struggling to survive on a pension.
He also pretends that a 20 per cent rate increase will be less than the rate increases previously requested by the old councils.
He forgets to mentioned that those rate increase were never approved by the Regulatory Tribunal, and in my opinion they never would have been.
Do you think all your constituents are stupid Mr. Bromhead?
Sure all councils would like to have more income, but they will just have to live within their budget, just like pensioners do.
