Forster Aquatic Swimming Club representatives Claire Van Kampen and Dane Jeffery are participating in the Australian Age Championships, being held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre in Queensland.

Claire was in action on the first day of the championships, April 16, in the 15 year girls 200 metre backstroke.

Her time of two minutes and thirty-one seconds was unfortunately not enough to advance to the final.

Claire is back in the pool on April 19 to contest the 15 year girls 100 metre backstroke. Dane was in action yesterday in the 15 year boys 100 metre breaststroke.

Claire and Dane would like to thank their coaches Peter Sanders and Adel Gregory for the dedication shown to their swimming development. The duo are considered regulars at the Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre where they swim and train six days a week.

A contingent of North Coast swimmers have joined Dane and Claire at the championships.
