UPDATE: At approximately 2.30am on Friday a 4.3 magnitude earthquake earthquake occurred in the vicinity of Cadia Valley Operations, 25km south of Orange.

As per procedure, all personnel working in the underground operations in the Cadia East Gold Mine were moved to refuge chambers or safe areas.
Geotechnical engineers inspected the mine accesses and certified them as safe prior to the movement of personnel to the surface.
As at 9:30am all personnel were safely transferred to the surface.
Production from the mine has been suspended.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of four kilometres, close to Four Mile Creek Road, around 30 kilometers from Orange.
It could have been felt by people up to 84 km away.
According to Geoscience Australia it could have caused damage up to 7km away.
