Tuncurry one has consolidated its place at the top of the table with a hard fought 60-55 (9-1) win over second placed Taree West opening up a nine point margin over the rest of the field in the grade 1-2 competition.
Forster one, with a 10-0 victory over Wingham joined Taree West in second place on 19 points.
In the competition within a competition for the best two grade team, Tuncurry two is leading on 12 points.
A feat all bowlers strive for, but very few get – especially in the top grade, is the scoring ofthe magical eight on the one end.
This was achieved on Saturday by the rink skipped by Rex Johnston when they scored the maximum against their Taree West opponents.
Grade three: Old Bar continue winning and now lead this grade on 26.5 points. Previous leaders Pacific Palms were soundly beaten by Leagues 10-0 and have slipped to third and Leagues have jumped into second on 20 points.
Grade four: Gloucester have remained on top after another win and have extended their lead after second placed Harrington were beaten by Forster. Harrington remain in second with Forster climbing to third.
Grade five: Unbeaten Buladelah came back to earth after being defeated by Sporties 9-1. Despite this setback they retain the lead in a closely fought section on (21) followed by Tuncurry(20), Sporties(18.5) and Taree West(18).
Grade 6.1: Lansdowne with a massive 114 shot margin over Old Bar have opened up a 10 point buffer from equal second Taree Railway and Tuncurry on 19 points.
Grade 6.2: Wins to W ingham, Harrington and Forster saw these clubs remain in this order at the top of this section.
Grade 7.1: Taree Railway have opened up a nine point lead after their win and the defeat of second placed Tuncurry by third placed Manning Point.
Grade 7.2: Black Head (2) have remained in front on 20 despite their defeat by Harrington now on 17 with Wingham third on 10.
