SafeWork NSW officers will be visiting independently-owned services stations in Forster as part of a State government initiative to make workplaces more efficient and safer.

SafeWork NSW regional operations and sector initiatives director, Tony Williams said the design of the project was to allow all service stations to be productive and promote safety.
“Due to their isolation, small, independently-owned service stations in regional NSW have received less frequent assistance in the past,” Mr Williams said.
“By supporting them to understand their work health and safety, worker’s compensation and trading obligations, workers will be safer and consumers better protected.”
Inspectors will advise operators how they can comply with dangerous goods regulations and assess safety and emergency plans.
Operators who receive a visit from inspectors may be eligible for $500 rebate that can be put towards purchasing and installing safety items that can address issues in the workplace.
