Group Three chief executive Barrie Smith said the decision was made on Friday morning.
“Port Macquarie Regional Stadium is definitely out. Tuncurry was still a chance, but we can’t play one and not the other,’’ Mr Smith said.
Mr Smith added that input from coaches indicated many willing to play the round.
“They haven’t been training because of the rain and they weren’t keen to play on a wet field and risk injuries,’’ Mr Smith said.
Opening round matches at Wingham and Kempsey last weekend were also ruled out because of the wet weather.
“We can look forward to the opening round of the season on April 8 now to see some football,’’ Mr Smith added.
The Group Three season launch will be held at the Wingham Services Club next Friday evening.
