Tuncurry Forster Football Club will be holding a fundraiser this Sunday to raise money for club canteen supervisor Merv Burton.

The 'Back Paddock for a Mate- Merv Burton' fundraiser will be held between 1 and 4 pm at the Great Lakes Winery, with all proceeds going to helping Merv financially.

Merv has been heavily involved in the club for over 20 years and is in the midst of a battle with cancer.

Tickets are $15 per person.

Bumper stickers will also be available on the day with all proceeds going to the cause.

These items will remain on sale throughout the upcoming season.

Club president Dave Stewart said the fundraiser is a small gesture to show the club’s support.

"We love our Merv and we want to show our support," Dave said.
