Her hair has grown long, blonde and strong – similar to the fairytale princess Rapunzel.
As much as Kirra-lea loves her princess-like hair she is willing to give it away to help others feel better.
Kirra-lea’s mother Melissa Rooney said: “Kirra decided to have her hair donated to Wigs for Kids because she has seen little girls with no hair and wanted them to feel like a princess like she does with her beautiful, long hair”.
In April Kirra-lea will have around 45cm of hair chopped off and sent to Variety The Children’s Charity.
Melissa said Kirra-lea is excited to have her hair cut short.
“She wants to help others feel confident in themselves after cancer treatment,” Melissa said.
“They go through such a hard time and Kirra-lea just wants to make them smile and feel better about themselves.”
Melissa said she and her husband Nathan were not shocked when Kirra-lea requested to donate her hair.
“We are very proud of our little girl’s selfless nature. She has a very kind loving heart,” she said.
“Nathan and I are a very proud mum and dad of our children.”
Kirra-lea is aiming to raise $1000 for Variety. To donate visit: alopecia.everydayhero.com/au/kirra-lea-s-wish?
