Sunrise Supported Living has announced plans to expand its Tuncurry site.
And, all will be unveiled this Saturday from 2.30pm with drinks, canapes and afternoon tea followed by an informative presentation at 2.45pm about the new units due for completion mid-2017.
The new site, which will be created on a property next to the existing complex, includes 39 units, a community lounge and a large undercover car park.
After receiving feedback from residents, Sunrise management realised larger units would be required to accommodate everyone’s needs.
Sunrise Supported Living director Paul Greenup said a key focus of the new design was to allow couples to continue to live together, regardless of required care.
“Our residents never have to move again which is something that really appeals to people,” Mr Greenup said.
Our residents never have to move again.
"If one of the couples needs a high level of care, rather then them being sent off to a residential care facility, we can provide for all levels of care.”
All units will remain furnished and maintained by Sunrise staff.
"Not only are the appliances provided by us but they are also maintained by us.”
Nursing staff will continue to provide round-the-clock support and assistance for all residents.
The first stage of the project is expected to be completed before Christmas.
