It was a bumper crowd of between 1500 to 2000 who enjoyed Ladies Day at the Tuncurry Forster Jockey Club which saw the ladies enjoying perfect weather and dressed to the nines.

Erin Harrison from Hallidays Point won the award for the best dressed lady and Jenny Turner from Forster took out best headwear. The judges, Anthony Manton from television program ‘Married At First Sight’ and the Sky Channel, Natalie McQuillan and Lara Lumtin were unanimous with their decision. Dawn Curle was the lucky winner of a weekend trip to Mudgee.
It was the luck of the Irish for young apprentice jockey Louise Day from Ireland who had her first career win in the last race on the Kris Lees trained Face like Thunder. Louise said after the race she loved the Tuncurry track and is looking forward to riding more winners here.
Port Macquarie trainer Neil Godbolt managed a win in the Sporties Benchmark 60 Handicap with Antova, ridden by Matthew Paget.
The next race meeting for the club is Tuncurry Gold Cup Day on September 1.
