Now in its 59th year, the NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for people over 60 in the Southern Hemisphere and the theme for 2017 is ‘Let’s do more together’, encouraging seniors to remain active and engaged in their local communities.
To celebrate this annual festival, the team at MidCoast Council has partnered with a number of local community groups and organisations to put together a calendar of free events for local seniors to get involved in.
MidCoast Council’s community development co-ordinator, Lyndie Hepple, encourages local seniors to check out the calendar, get involved and try something new.
“There are so many activities happening in towns across the region including Tai Chi, fitness classes, croquet, sailing, craft, bowling, open days, library events, dancing and more!
“There really is something for everyone and it’s been great to see local community groups and organisations getting involved in this fantastic initiative.”
