The match was played over 20 minute thirds and the Colts, who brought a strong 17-man squad with them, led 10-0 going into the first break.
The local side mixed their team around, giving players from first grade through to the under 18s an opportunity to display their wares.
Tom Dooker was his usual industrious self in the middle of the field while he worked on some combinations with the outside backs.
Liam Simon was strong, as were under 18s forwards Dylan Mauger and Sam Whitbread.
Backs Dirk Ridgeway and Beau Lowry had busy games out wide.
Training resumes for the Hawks squad each Tuesday and Thursday at Harry Elliott Oval at 5.45pm as they prepare for the group 3 preseason comp starting on Sunday, March 19 against Old Bar at the Wingham Sporting Complex.
