Before beginning our planning session we held a minute’s silence in remembrance of the late Hazel Little who passed away in December.
She will be greatly missed - a gentle and caring lady and keen member. Vale Hazel.
Our country zone representative, Genie Williams, reported on Red Cross assistance in the aftermath of the Bourke Street Mall tragedy where trained teams offered psychological first aid to people and information to help them cope - more than 50 volunteers were activated over the weekend.
The Victorian Government is providing the financial support.
On the local scene tangible assistance is ongoing for the Women’s Shelter.
Trauma Teddies were happily received into the paediatric ward at the Mayo Private Hospital in Taree.
These jolly teddies are distributed widely and pop up all over the place as need arises and were recently to be seen in Canada, Italy, Cambodia and Nepal.
