The first day of play was held at Taree Railway, second day at Harrington and the finals were held at Forster.

In the over 60s the teams were skipped by Sue Thomas of Tuncurry Beach against Old Bar.

Sue’s team got off to a handy start and maintained the lead throughout to be the eventual winner.

In the open final the team of Di Boddington, Pam Coleman, Joan Thomas and Sarah Boddington, Tuncurry Beach were against Gina Pain, Sue Davis, Larraine Mazurek and June Wall, Forster.

In a closely contested game June Wall’s team proved too strong and ran out the winners.

Congratulations to both winning teams who will now contest the regional finals later in the year.

A delicious lunch of chicken and salad was served to the all the contestants along with the district officials and the club presidents.

Barbara Cofteros was responsible for putting the lunch together, and as always she does an excellent job.

Platters of fruit were provided as finishing touches.

Presentation of medals to both winners and runners up followed lunch.

Spectators from all areas were in attendance and enjoyed a wonderful morning of excellent bowls.
