Numbers have been solid throughout the four grades, though any players keen for a run this season are most welcome to come along and join the training sessions.
Training will be at the Hawks home ground, Harry Elliott Oval, located at the North Tuncurry Sporting Complex at 5.45pm each Tuesday and Thursday.
The Greta Branxton Colts will be bringing four grades to Harry Elliott Oval to take on the locals in a trial game on Saturday, February 25.
Hawks league tag coach Lyn Eason will send her new look side out at 2pm against the Greta Branxton women in a game which will gauge exactly where the Hawks side stands at the current time.
The Hawks women will certainly have youth on their side as a plethora of talented young players have joined the club and have been training exceptionally well.
David Elliott’s under 18s outfit will take the field at 3.05pm.
The Hawks will field a team mixed with youth and experience this term as a number of last season’s side will once again qualify to play.
Forwards Dylan Mauger and Sam Whitbread will be looking forward to leading the team from up front.
The senior grades will kick off at 4.15pm.
First grade coach Matt Kirkland will welcome the return of representative stars Luke Barry and Tom Dooker back into the green and gold for the 2017 campaign.
Burly forward, Alex McCormack has come across from Parkes, while Liam Simon looks fit and ready to put in a solid effort in the engine room.
Standout back rowers Chris Simon and Ben Murray have been training the house down and will both be looking forward to a successful 2017 campaign.
Entry to the trial will be via a gold coin donation and all proceeds will go towards the local YMCA Swimathon.
The 2017 preseason competition will see the Hawks take on the Old Bar Pirates in league tag, under 18s and senior grades at the Wingham Sporting Complex on Sunday, March 19.
The season proper kicks off on Sunday, April 9 when the Hawks will welcome the Port Macquarie Sharks to Harry Elliott Oval.
