It’s a common issue that can occur in every corner of the house unless the right child safe equipment is installed.
An example of a place where this can occur is in the bathroom, particularly with glass shower doors which are heavy.
To acknowledge these issues, Stegbar have brought a new range of soft-closing shower screens to the Australian market.
This new range has been designed for frameless shower screens and has premium inclusions such as the self-closing hinge that prevents the glass door from slamming shut and therefore lessening the impact that causes injuries.
Christine Evans, Marketing Manager at Stegbar said the soft close functionality is made possible with the Polaris Soft Close Hinge, an advanced product featuring a unique tri-action closing system.
“Our new soft-close shower screens not only contribute to the style of a contemporary bathroom, they are a safer option because the door will not slam shut.
“Parents can breathe easier knowing that little hands will not be trapped or injured by a slammed shower door as our new soft-close shower screens do just that, they close slowly and gently,” Miss Evans said.
The spring magnets and shock absorbers within the hinge cause gentle closing of the door from any position.
The hinge will ensure closing the shower screen is extremely safe, quiet and will reduce potential damage.
Stegbar soft-close shower screens are available for glass-to-glass, glass-to-wall and open out configurations.
Stegbar have considered everything, including a stopper to safeguard the door from opening inwards.
Here are some more tips to consider for a child safe bathroom:
- Install soft closing drawers and cabinets.
- Install a soft closing toilet lid.
- Consider lining the shower or bath with with a non-slip mat.
- Consider getting an instant gas unit where you can set a maximum temperature to prevent risk of burns.
- Ensure there are no sharp edges.
- Keep medicine in high, hard to reach places.
