The Local NSW Grandparent of the Year is an opportunity for younger generations to recognise the many ways grandparents and older people enrich our lives and communities, Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said.
“Grandparents and older people do so much to make our community a better place to live and work,” Mr Bromhead said.
“The award is an opportunity for us to thank them for the contribution they make across many different areas of community life.
“If you know a grandparent who is making a difference in the Myall Lakes, then nominate them today.”
Nominations for the 2016 Local NSW Grandparent of the Year award is open until Friday, October 21.
The winner will be presented their award at the 2016 Myall Lakes Community Awards on November 5 at Club Taree.
NSW Grandparents Day was launched by the NSW Government in 2011 and is a key initiative under the NSW Ageing Strategy.
