The Mid North Coast Girls Surfriders Club is a community based club providing a service for surfer girls on the Mid North Coast promoting girls surfing, fun, fitness and friendship in a non-threatening environment.
It is the continued support from local businesses and community partnerships that permits The Mid North Coast Girls Surfriders to host such an event which includes a unique contest format that encourages all girls and women regardless of their age or ability to compete in a non-threatening environment.
All competitors surf two rounds in their respective divisions, their results from both rounds are tallied together.
The top six surfers progress to the finals being held on Sunday.
This format encourages participation and focuses on surfing consistently over the two day event instead of a straight knock out competition.
More than 60 competitors have entered in 10 divisions from Lennox Heads, Forster and Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
It is not too late to get your entries in, so just download an entry form off our website www.mncgs.info or our Facebook page.
The most popular division this year is the JNC Civil Construction 12 years and under beginner girl caddy (any size board) division.
We have 13 surfer girls with their caddy daddy’s all striving to win the 2016 title.
This unique division is for the beginner surfer girl learning to surf and still riding the white water.
Their caddy is allowed to enter the water with their daughter and assist them onto the waves.
The Nashyspix Open Longboard division has Port Macquarie’s Kelly Brown returning for another year and will be hotly contested by Mandy Penhall from Taree and Elaine Gonzalez and Maddi Walker from Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Lake Cathie’s Robyn Wallace and Bonny Hills Leanne Hopwood competing in the Ocean Club Resort Over 55s
Longboard are up against strong opposition from the Lennox Head All Girls Surfer Marg Bryant who at the age of 65 continues to excel in the sport of surfing.
Day one of competition starts at Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills on October 8 at 7am.
Day one will conclude at 4.3 pm followed by the Mid North Coast Girls Surfriders mega raffle at the Big 4 Holiday Park Bonny Hills Conference room.
This year there are surfboards, a streetboardz, surfing paraphernalia and product up for grabs.
