Now in it's 36th year, the show will be held this Saturday and Sunday – the October long weekend.
The show will be open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
Potting demonstrations will be given at 10am, noon and 2pm both days of the show.
Spring is the peek flowering time for orchids, particularly the Australian native orchids and their hybrids and a wide range of orchid varieties will be on display including cymbidiums, cattleyas, softcane dendrobiums and many more.
Members of the society will be on hand over the weekend to assist visitors to the show with their questions and will be able to provide growing tips that will help you to get the best from your plants.
We will be able to help in choosing plants which may be suitable for your growing conditions.
In addition to a variety of plants available for purchase there will be all types of pots, growing media, labels, fertilisers and other materials you may need for growing your orchids.
The society will hold its next general meeting on Tuesday, October 11 at Forster Public School hall from 7pm.
Members have a range of orchids on display at each meeting and are more than happy to help you with your questions.
New members and visitors are always welcome to come along and join us for a cuppa and discussion during the evening.
