A 76-year-old man was arrested and is now assisting police after he was allegedly disarmed of a firearm around lunchtime today.

Just before 12.30pm today (Wednesday 21 September 2016), police were called to a business on Wallanbah Road, Dyers Crossing, following reports of a man with a firearm.
Police have been told a witness confronted the 76-year-old man, before managing to disarm him.
Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Local Area attended the incident and commenced an investigation.
The man was arrested and taken to Foster Police Station where he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
