The necessary maintenance work on September 28 involves the installation of a new gas switch – which allows crews to segment the network during planned or unplanned work, minimising the number of customers affected by an outage. Crews will also install new link cables and replace some power poles.
The work will affect 546 customers from 8am to 3.30pm and will include some medical and other businesses. Generators are on offer to assist those affected on the day. Anyone interested should call 13 20 80.
Extra teams from Taree will assist local crews to get the work done in one day rather than having the need to have two or three outages.
