Great Lakes View Club members have been enjoying a variety of activities as well as the usual monthly dinners. Looking for some retail therapy, 48 members traveled by coach mid-August to Port Macquarie, following up the spree with a matinee performance at the Players Theatre. The presentation of the musical ‘Grease’ was enjoyed by all as a great musical show.

On Monday August 22 we held our usual monthly dinner meeting, tapping into the flavour of the month with a ‘Go to Rio’ theme. Celebrating our own modified version of the Olympics, not too many gold medals were awarded! A fun Craft Day was later held on Wednesday August 31 at a member’s home where each other’s company as well as the lunch was enjoyed.
More plans are under way such as a trip to ‘My Fair Lady’ in Sydney, the Russian Ballet at Port Macquarie, a very interesting guest speaker for our September meeting, our October meeting will have a theme of ‘Casino Royale’. There will also be another full day trip to the Players Theatre in Port Macquarie for ‘Sweet Charity’ and then before we know it, we will be holding our last meeting for the year in November.
