Australian Angel Babies receive burial gowns and keepsakes made lovingly from donated wedding dresses.
Seaside Heritage Quilters will again hold their Annual Quilt Exhibition over the upcoming October Long Weekend at Holy Name Primary School Hall on Lake Street, Forster.
This year’s main raffle is a quilt made by the group’s 32 members, with proceeds to Can Assist Manning Valley. Raffle tickets are available from members or at the door. On display will be small children’s quilts which the members have been making for donation to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. Also showcased will be bed quilts, art quilts, their yearly challenge and workshop articles completed over the past year. This year the challenge was ‘an item’ such as a cushion, a bag, wearable items, with three layers of quilting – in short, anything but a quilt itself.
“We’re only a small group, but we’re pretty active,” said Lyn Beaver.
